About Me Education I received my Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology in 1986 at the University of Houston. I continued my training at the Houston/Galveston Family Institute and at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston
where I received a one year Family Therapy Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. These years shaped my understanding of how we are all parts of systems both internally and externally. My skills in Narrative Therapy, Brief Therapy, Problem-determined Therapy and various Family and couples therapies were planted in these years. In 2003, I started my training in Mindfulness-based psychotherapy at the Hakomi Institute in Boulder, Colorado. I continued with the Hakomi Institute as a teaching assistant after graduating from the program for two more years and continue attending workshops annually. I am also a Level One PACT therapist.
Personal My work is influenced by my 34 years of meditation practice. My personal growth is important to me as I continue to develop my skills and pursue personal development through workshops and meditation practice. I have been married for 25 years and enjoy being the father of two sons, 19 and 24 years of age. My community is important to me and I contribute through volunteering and participating in neighborhood activities.
